Palm Tree Root
Nature: Neutral in nature, bitter and astringent taste, non-toxic.
Medicinal Part: The root of the palm tree from the Arecaceae family.
Usage and Dosage of Palm Tree Root
Internal Use: Decoction, 3-5 grams. External Use: Decoct in water and wash affected area.
Effects and Benefits of Palm Tree Root
Effects: Stops bleeding, removes dampness, reduces swelling, and detoxifies.
Main Uses: Suitable for treating conditions such as vomiting blood, rectal bleeding, urinary bleeding, uterine bleeding, vaginal discharge, dysentery, joint pain, edema, scrofula, abscesses, and trauma injuries.
Combinations with Palm Tree Root
Treat vomiting blood: Burn palm tree root to ash, mix with urine and sugar, consumed on an empty stomach. (Sichuan Materia Medica)
② Treat urinary bleeding: One tael of palm tree root. Stew with pork and eat. (Hunan Materia Medica)
③ Treat nocturnal emission: Five grams of palm root. Decoction in water, mix with sugar before consuming. (Hunan Materia Medica)
④ Treat dysentery: Two taels each of palm root, herb, and pigeon nest. Decoction and consume. (Sichuan Materia Medica)
⑤ Treat chronic dysentery: Stew palm root with meat and consume. (Sichuan Materia Medica)
⑥ Treat prolapsed uterus: Four taels each of palm root and pork. Cook thoroughly, consume both meat and broth three to five times.
⑦ Treat limb and joint pain: Five grams of palm root, two grams of ginkgo. Decoction and consume.
⑧ Treat snake bites: Three grams each of palm root, fish mint, mulberry bark. Decoction and wash area. (Hunan Materia Medica)
⑨ Treat cold abscess: Quantities of palm tree root, peach root, pine root, and Elaeagnus root as needed. Decoction, wash affected area; apply residue as a paste externally. (Jiangxi Herbs)
⑩ Treat scrofula: One tael each of palm root, abacus bead root, and sapium root. Decoction, consume with meat broth. (Jiangxi Herbs)
⑾ Treat edema: Fresh palm root one tael, five grams to one tael each of grass for abdominal water and coix root. Decoction and consume.
⑿ Treat roundworm disease: Three grams each of palm root, coix root, Melia bark, and orchid root. Decoction and consume.
