What Ancient Texts Say

1. Commentary on Materia Medica: "Its astringent nature stops excessive loss. Weak spleens and frequent leakage require astringent herbs for stability. Jinyingzi addresses kidney and bladder weaknesses to control urinary and reproductive issues."

2. New Compilation of Materia Medica: "Jinyingzi is widely used for preserving essence, but it must be paired with herbs such as lotus seeds, yam, or barley to prevent excessive astringency. Combining strengthening and loosening actions ensures balanced results."
