Nux Vomica Powder Usage and Dosage

Usage: 0.3～0.6g, used in pills or powders.

Preparation: Take prepared Strychni Semen, pulverize it into a fine powder. After determining the strychnine content according to the Strychni Semen [Content Assay] method, add an appropriate amount of starch to ensure the content meets specifications. Mix thoroughly to obtain the final product.

Nux Vomica Powder Classical Formulas

2. **For beriberi, numbness of hands and feet, hemiplegia, incontinence or spontaneous urination:** Six fen (approximately 0.6g) of Strychni Semen (peeled, ground into fine powder) and six fen of licorice (fine powder). Refine with honey into 40 pills. Take 1-2 pills, three times daily after meals with warm water, for seven consecutive days. Stop for seven days, then resume. 3. **For fractures:** Strychni Semen, Bitter Orange. For every jin (approximately 500g) of unprocessed Strychni Semen, add one liang (approximately 30g) of licorice. Place together in a jar and soak in cold water, changing the water daily for 16 days. Afterward, scrape off the hairs of the Strychni Semen, slice, and sun-dry. Fry with fine sand until yellow. Then soak in child's urine (2-3 weeks in winter, 4-5 days in summer). Rinse thoroughly with running water for a day and a half, then air dry and grind into a fine powder. Bitter Orange (can be raw or processed) is soaked in child's urine for 2-3 days, removed, washed with water, air dried, and ground into a fine powder. Mix Strychni Semen powder with Bitter Orange powder in a 1:2 ratio. Can also be made into honey pills. Adults take 2 grams, three times daily; maximum daily dose is 8 grams. Children's dosage should be reduced accordingly. This treatment should be accompanied by fracture reduction and splint fixation. **Caution:** Pregnant women, individuals with high blood pressure, high fever, or mental disorders should use with extreme caution.
