Classic Formula Combinations with Ziran Tong (Pyrite)
1. For persistent sores with multi-colored parasitic worms: Equal parts of Pyrite (Ziran Tong), along with Gold Star Stone (Jinxingshi), Silver Star Stone (Yinxingshi), Mica (Yunmushi), Yu Yu Liang Stone (Yuyuliangshi), Talc (Huashi), Actinolite (Yangqishi), Magnetite (Cishi), Gypsum (Ningshuishi), Litharge (Mituoseng), and Ambergris Stone (Longxianshi). Crush them, store in a bottle, seal with salted mud. Heat with ten catties of charcoal to create a fine powder. Form into small bean-sized pills with vinegar paste. Take fifteen pills per dose with white flower snake wine, three times a day, until healed. (From Taiping Shenghuifang)

Historical Perspectives on Ziran Tong (Pyrite)
1. From Bencao Gangmu (Compendium of Materia Medica): "Ziran Tong's efficacy in mending bones is undeniable, similar to copper shavings. However, after the bones are mended, it should not be taken continuously. Instead, qi-regulating and blood-activating herbs should be administered." This highlights its potent healing properties but also advises careful post-treatment management.
2. From Kaibao (Kaibao Bencao): "For fractures, it disperses blood, relieves pain, and breaks up accumulations." This ancient text emphasizes its dual action on both pain and pathological accumulations.
3. From Benjing Fengyuan: "Ziran Tong, found in copper mines, possesses a firm and unyielding nature. It disperses fire and stops pain, with its primary function being bone mending. Once bones are mended, it is advisable to regulate qi and activate blood to prevent its fierce nature from harming the Middle Jiao or scattering the true qi." This detailed description from another classical text further underscores its powerful, yet potentially intense, nature.
