Jinjin Xiang, also known by names like Purple Gold Seed, Large Incense Burner, and Honeycomb Grass, is a versatile herb used in Traditional Chinese Medicine. It is known for its balanced taste and neutral properties, affecting the lungs, spleen, liver, and large intestine. 
Characteristics of Jinjin Xiang
Jinjin Xiang is about 60 cm long, with a cylindrical gray-brown root and a stalk-like square stem. The leaves are yellow-green, lanceolate, and covered with golden hairs, while its globular flower head displays dark purple-red petals. This herb is usually considered best when the leaves are abundant and include fruit.
Uses and Dosage of Jinjin Xiang
For internal use, Jinjin Xiang can be taken as a decoction at 10-30 grams or as a juice, tincture, or ground powder. For external application, it can be powdered for sprinkling, or decocted for washes or mouth rinses.
Health Benefits and Applications
Jinjin Xiang is widely used to break up phlegm, promote fluid movement, stop bleeding, and detoxify and reduce swelling. It is commonly used to treat conditions like cough, asthma, dysentery, diarrhea, blood vomiting, bloody stool, amenorrhea, malnutrition, rheumatic bone pain, and trauma from falls.
