The outer skin easily separates from the inner part. The rhizome (underground stem) is grayish-yellow or yellowish-brown, with many residual roots and stem bases attached. Its texture is firm and tough. It has a faint aroma and a bland taste.

Usage and Dosage of Coix Root

Internal Use: Decoction (boiled tea), 15-30g.

External Use: An appropriate amount, decocted in water for washing.

Preparation: Harvested in autumn, washed thoroughly, and sun-dried.
