Usage and Dosage of Li Dong Wan

Ingredients: Notoginseng (San Qi), Rhubarb, Ferula (Awei), Catechu, Bamboo Sap, Dragon Blood, Frankincense, Myrrh, Realgar, Goat Blood (use fresh heart blood from a goat if unavailable), Borneol, Musk, Bovine Bezoar. These are ground into a fine powder, treated with goat blood and exposed to dew on Autumn lotus leaves, then dried.

Preparation: Mix the herbal powders with dew-exposed gamboge and press over a thousand times. Add a small amount of honey to bind the mixture into pills, each weighing one Qian, and seal with beeswax.
