  • Asparagus Root (Tian Dong): 6g
  • Achyranthes Root (Niu Xi, steamed with wine): 6–9g
  • Poria (Fu Ling): 6g
  • Chinese Yam (Shan Yao, steamed): 6–9g
  • Solomon's Seal (Yu Zhu): 12–15g
  • Soft-shelled Turtle Shell (Bie Jia): 12–15g
  • Tortoise Shell (Gui Jia): 12–15g
  • Longan Fruit (optional): 10 pieces

Preparation: Combine all ingredients with 400 ml of water. Simmer until reduced to 280 ml. Consume warm on an empty stomach.

Adjustments for Specific Symptoms

  • Bone steaming fever with sweating: Add 6g of Lycium Root Bark (Di Gu Pi).
  • No sweating: Add 3g of Moutan Bark (Dan Pi).
  • Lower back pain: Include 9–15g of Goji Berries (Gou Qi Zi), 6g of Eucommia Bark (Du Zhong), or one pig kidney with spinal cord.
  • Night sweats: Add 6–24g of Fried Ziziphus Seed Powder (Suan Zao Ren) and 0.6–3g of Schisandra (Wu Wei Zi).
  • Cough: Use 30–60g of Fresh Lily Bulb (Bai He), 6–9g of Coltsfoot Flower (Kuan Dong Hua), and 3 pieces of Loquat Leaf (Pi Pa Ye).
  • Phlegm: Add 6–9g of Fritillaria (Bei Mu).
  • Blood in sputum: Include 1 cup of Lotus Root Juice (Ou Zhi) and 1 cup of freshly collected child’s urine.
  • Poor appetite: Add 15–30g of Stir-fried Coix Seed (Yi Yi Ren).
  • Weak Lung pulse: Adjust with Ginseng (Ren Shen) as needed.
  • Loose stools: Exclude Raw Rehmannia Root (Sheng Di Huang) and Asparagus Root (Tian Dong).
