Preparation: Divide the ingredients into four equal portions. Boil each portion with 375ml of water and three slices of fresh ginger until reduced to 250ml. Drink warm on an empty stomach. After straining, reboil the herbs and consume the second decoction before bedtime. Begin taking the soup after menstruation starts and continue with one dose daily.

Adjustments Based on Symptoms

If your period is delayed and the menstrual flow appears pale, this may indicate blood deficiency with cold. Add the following herbs:

  • Cinnamon twig – 6g
  • Fried ginger – 6g
  • Mugwort leaf – 6g

If your period arrives three to five days early and the flow appears dark purple, this may indicate blood deficiency with heat. Add:

  • Scutellaria root – 9g
