Overview

Formula: This prep combines the four substances that nourish blood and support qi with the herb motherwort to move blood and regulate the menstrual cycle. Rehmannia, Angelica, Peony, and Chuanxiong work to invigorate blood and regulate menses; Codonopsis, Poria, Atractylodes, and Licorice support qi and strengthen the spleen. When used together, these two groups harmonize qi and blood, while motherwort enhances blood flow and qi movement, providing yin nourishment. Together, these herbs aim to tonify qi and blood and regulate menstruation.

Usage and Dosage

Ingredients: Motherwort (Leonurus), Codonopsis, Atractylodes, Poria, Licorice, Angelica, Peony (prepared with wine), Chuanxiong, Rehmannia.

Administration: Take orally, 6 grams per dose, twice daily.

Indications and Actions

Actions: Tonifies qi and blood, regulate the menstrual cycle.

Indications: Women with depleted qi and blood, weakness or fatigue, and irregular menstruation.

Precautions and Contraindications

1. Avoid spicy foods and raw foods.

2. Do not use during febrile colds with fever.

3. Use with caution in cases of hypertension, heart disease, liver disease, diabetes, or kidney disease, especially in severe or chronic illness, under physician supervision.

4. Adolescent girls and menopause: use under physician guidance.

5. If menstruation becomes light, delayed, or irregular vaginal bleeding occurs, seek medical attention.

6. If symptoms do not improve after one month, consult a clinician.

7. Do not use if allergic to any component; use with caution if prone to allergies.

8. Do not use if the product’s appearance changes.
